My grandson had his birthday party here and all the children that attended had a fun time!
All of the grown-ups had a special partitioned backroom area in which to sit, talk and eat the food. However, you must supply your own food, cake, drinks and decorations.
I highly recommend taking young children to this place. They have a bunch of kid-friendly playrooms, such as a kitchen, pizzeria, post office and much more. A lot of kids enjoy the fire truck and equipment too.

My son loves it here. We have a membership (which I highly recommend as you save a lot if you go more than twice a year). Great location with really pretty views. We walk along the Hudson River often. There is an elevator access up to the Walkway Over The Hudson, but its super high and Im not sure I could do it. Inside there are plenty of activities to keep a vast age group entertained. They have cute little shows and demonstrations throughout the month. Very wheelchair friendly as there is an elevator to get to the second exhibit floor. They rotate and add things constantly to keep it fresh for those who good often. We even had my son’s 3rd birthday there and they were accommodating, decently priced and the cake was great!

It was a spontaneous visit for me and my wife. So great… loved the walk. The view was pretty. If you appreciate history and hiking you will love it. I must return to visit the towns and have a weekend getaway.

Great family activity. The straight, flat, perfect pavement makes it the ideal place to take kids to walk, ride bikes or roller skate. If you want a more private experience, definitely consider what time you go because the walkway can become a busy place. Make sure you’re prepared for the weather, everything is amplified – there’s no shade from the sun and it can get very windy. The vibes up here are lovely 💜

Beautiful natural area with well-maintained trails. As a tourist, I thought I would be able to see more of the house and landscape. Unfortunately most of it is covered over so just think of it as a nature preserve more than historic landscape/architecture.

Lovely art museum that can be visited in an hour. It’s the first building you’ll see as soon as you enter Vassar College. We easily found street parking by the main gate and then walked a few minutes to the gallery. Admission is free and face masks are mandatory.

Poughkeepsie has a little gem hiding on Noxon Street. A beautiful art gallery exhibiting both national and local artists. And a gallery that cares about its own community too! Visit! Enjoy! Engage! You’ll be glad you did.

A true, one of a kind oasis in the City of Poughkeepsie. Barrett’s world class exhibitions never cease to inspire, and the artist talks keep me grounded in the creative process. Stop by, you’ll be grateful you did.

The Mid Hudson Bridge is a beautiful suspension bridge. It has nice views. But to be fair, the views from the Walkway over the Hudson near by are better. From the walkway, you get to see the Mid Hudson bridge if you look south.
But the Mid Hudson bridge does have beautiful views. The bridge itself is actually a little too small for the capacity it moves. As such they alternate a center lane of three to help the flow of traffic on a bridge only designed for two lanes.
There is also work almost always being done to maintain the bridge. But it is what it is. At times they light up the bridge. Recently it has has alternating colors that make the bridge come alive at night.
So it also has nice views in day or night looking at the bridge .
